OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The Cloud Infrastructure Specialist will oversee the setup, installation, configuration, operation, and upkeep of systems, networking, and security hardware and software for the organization.
This role encompasses cloud computing responsibilities, including planning, management, design, maintenance, and support. The individual will be tasked with planning, designing, and executing core network infrastructure.This position will drive innovation within the organization, ensuring that cloud, infrastructure, and on-premises environments, along with related procedures, comply with organizational policies.
The specialist will collaborate closely with business partners and vendors.This role will report to the Infrastructure Operations Manager.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This position necessitates access to and handling of confidential healthcare information or protected health information (PHI) as outlined in laws governing patient confidentiality, including, but not limited to, the federal HIPAA law and various state regulations.
The individual in this role will be required to undergo training regarding these laws and must adhere to them in their capacity as an employee of Vaya Health. The individual will also be required to sign a confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment with Vaya Health.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Support:
Deliver customer service support and consultation for Microsoft Exchange, Azure Cloud, and Core Network infrastructure.
Ensure that documentation remains current and advocate for change management.
Address Tier - 3 escalated Service Desk tickets within the designated Service Level Agreement.
Coordinate and execute after-hours maintenance tasks.
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Infrastructure Operations Manager or other MIS leadership.
Operational Duties:
Configure firewalls, routing, and switching to enhance network efficiency and security.
Establish hybrid connectivity for on-site and Azure environments.
Collaborate with infrastructure engineers to ensure operational readiness for deploying secure and scalable workloads into public and hybrid cloud environments.
Conduct network and security audits and implement recovery processes in line with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Design and implement new network solutions and/or enhance the efficiency of existing networks.
Work closely with DevOps and cloud infrastructure architects and engineers to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure environments.
Develop and execute strategies for optimizing networks such as LAN, WLAN, WAN, and SD-WAN.
Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP.
Maximize network performance through continuous monitoring and troubleshooting.
Procure network equipment and manage subcontractors involved in network installation.
Provide engineering services to meet business strategic needs based on a comprehensive understanding of Data Center Operations (Operations, IT systems, SAN, NAS, Network, Windows/*nix Systems Administration, Command Center, and DR practices).
Implement infrastructure best practices for clients in areas such as CI, CD, performance, scalability, security, and availability.Project Management:
Effectively manage time and priorities.
Deliver projects on time and proactively communicate issues with team members and MIS leadership.
Provide recommendations and designs, coordinate planning across multiple teams, and execute well-structured improvements.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware, operating systems, and software is essential.
In-depth knowledge of Linux and expertise in scripting languages (PowerShell). Familiarity with IaaS platforms (MS Azure) and SaaS platforms (Office 365).
Standardize site surveying, positioning, and configuration for WLAN upgrades for coverage in office areas, large-scale manufacturing warehouses, and outdoor layouts.
Integrate new company acquisitions and mergers, including circuit cutovers, equipment upgrades, and detailed walkthroughs with onsite technical personnel.
Provide high-level roadmaps and best practice recommendations for optimizing both cloud and core network infrastructure.
Involved in building security models, VPC, for databases on Cloud platforms.
Coordinate integrated network operation efforts, IT planning, security, and other technical areas at assigned data centers.
Apply critical thinking to swiftly identify problems and implement solutions with minimal downtime.
Utilize software and hardware diagnostic tools to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex issues affecting system availability and performance.
Employ logic and holistic analysis to assess the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches. Justify decisions with sound reasoning.
Ability to multitask and perform a variety of administrative and engineering tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision. Collaborate effectively in a team environment or work independently as required.
Provide mentorship to others and facilitate knowledge transfer as necessary.
Stay informed about advancements in information technology and developments in cybersecurity.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
A solid work ethic is required.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
An Associate Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a combination of Azure Cloud System/Server Engineering or Network Infrastructure is necessary.
Licensure/Certification:
Azure Fundamentals or CompTIA Network+ is required.
Azure Administrator Associate or Vendor-Specific Network Certification (CCNP, Fortinet, Aruba) is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Close visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as document preparation and analysis, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
Physical activities in this role include crouching, reaching, walking, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers.This position involves sedentary work with lifting requirements up to 10 pounds and sitting for extended periods.
Mental concentration is essential in all aspects of work.
SALARY:
Compensation will be based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. This position is exempt and not eligible for overtime pay.
