Job Title: Network Infrastructure Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Alpha Omega Integration, LLC. As a Network Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and operating computer networks (LAN/WAN) to ensure efficient and reliable data transmission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, install, and maintain various network devices and services (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, DHCP)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the security team
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
- 6+ years of work experience responsible for designing, deploying, and operating computer networks (LAN/WAN)
- JNCIS-ENT / CCNA or higher
- In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as switches, firewalls, and routers
- Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
- Working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, BGP) and experience with IPv4 and IPv6
- Working knowledge of physical infrastructure design including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling
- Experience with fiber channel and managing brocade switches (FOS)
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering against deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Federal government experience a definite plus
- Experience implementing automation using ansible and python
- Experience with Linux based operating systems
- Experience with Git, Gitlab
- Experience with rancid, Zabbix
- Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, with exposure to Agile or iterative approaches to delivery preferred
- Familiarity with programming languages, libraries and APIs
