Job Title: Meal Service Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Meal Service Coordinator to join our team at Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles. As a key member of our senior nutrition program, you will be responsible for ensuring that participants receive safe and appetizing food, either on-site or at home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and coordinate senior nutrition sites, including data entry and food preparation according to HACCP guidelines
  • Coordinate and assist in the assembly and packing of home-delivered meals for delivery and/or grab-and-go
  • Maintain accurate records, attend staff meetings, and participate in training sessions as required
  • Perform outreach activities to ensure the program meets annual attendance goals
  • Maintain food wastage at < 3%
  • Observe all food safety procedures, including accurately taking and recording food/equipment temperatures
  • Enter data on client meal participation weekly to ensure timely reporting to program funding sources
  • Monitor and record donations, make bank deposits as needed, and maintain updated waiting lists for all areas
  • Complete client intake assessment forms to evaluate program eligibility and update the database accordingly
  • Comply with all program guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Assist with other routine office duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Customer Service Oriented
  • Current unrestricted CA Driver's License and proof of auto insurance and clean driving record
  • Must have valid CA driver's license and proof of Insurance
  • Travel to multiple work sites may be required
  • Experience working with the elderly or in social service organizations
  • Must be able to maintain records, work easily with a variety of people, and organize site activities
  • Must be able to work with volunteers
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math and record-keeping skills
  • Experience with basic data entry and the ability to quickly learn email and record/database systems required
  • Must obtain ServSafe Manager certification within 2 months of employment
  • Able to lift 30lb with or without assistance
  • Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, push, and pull, raise arms above head, twist, and grip items with or without assistance
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to use both hands and capable of performing repetitious duties
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment
