Job Summary

As a Nursing Attendant at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. Your responsibilities will include performing various patient care functions, adhering to established standards of care, policies, and procedures, and demonstrating a commitment to quality and effectiveness in your work habits.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership: Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, principles of responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
  2. Nursing Process: Correctly identify patients and scheduled procedures, perform patient care activities within the scope of competency, and report unusual findings to the Registered Nurse.
  3. Clinical Outcomes: Apply standard precautions, keep a safe environment for self and others, and observe patient/family conditions and report sudden changes or unusual findings to the Registered Nurse.
  4. Customer Service: Practice customer service standards as defined by the Service Area, Medical Center, and specific department, and promptly answer call lights, alarms, and patient requests.
  5. Team Commitment: Viewed by others as an effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others, and participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as a Nursing Attendant in an acute hospital, skilled nursing, extended care, or convalescent care setting.
  • State Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of a Nursing Attendant course or current enrollment in an approved RN or LVN program.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some positions may be posted as bilingual Spanish required on a position-by-position basis.
  • Will to be trained on computer systems.
