Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead our mechanical design project teams in creating world-class designs for various projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting mechanical plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion, ensuring project needs and requirements are met.
  • Prepare mechanical equipment specifications, data sheets, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
  • Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings, data interface with suppliers, clients, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in project schedule, scope, budget, staffing planning, and construction planning, ensuring effective management of change orders.
  • Apply expert knowledge of mechanical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the mechanical engineering services industry.
  • Develop and implement non-standard design solutions for complex projects.
  • Quality review production drawings and project-related data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead field inspections, installation, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
  • Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
  • Build effective relationships with clients, customers, and contractors, ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
  • Participate in sales and marketing efforts, identifying key pursuits and developing new business opportunities.
  • Lead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
  • Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates, reporting project performance.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the mechanical engineering practice, mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers.
  • Ensure QA/QC process adherence and effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
  • Comply with company and site safety policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program and 7 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • EPC project experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, NACE).
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead the discipline design for large projects and delegate work tasks to team members.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
Compensation

The expected compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $215,000, based on individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
