We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive the development of next-generation LED lighting technologies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions that meet our aggressive performance, cost, and schedule goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical systems for LED lighting fixtures, including injection molded and extruded plastics, die cast and extruded aluminum, stamping, forming, and spinning of sheet metal.
- Develop and implement software tools to automate the design process, including CAD libraries and standard functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Manage vendor selection, tooling trials, and documentation of new inventions.
- Develop and implement thermal and mechanical simulation tools to optimize product performance.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design; MS preferred.
- 10 years' experience in mechanical systems design.
- 5 years' experience with consumer hard products, preferably in lighting.
- Demonstrated success in designing products in high-volume (1M+/year) and low-volume (10k/year) environments.
- Proficiency with mechanical CAD (Pro/E, Solidworks, etc.) and thermal and mechanical simulation tools.
