Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently in search of a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the Air Vehicle Design team, supporting various initiatives within the Advanced Weapons Business Unit.

This role necessitates the selected candidate to work on-site, adhering to a 9/80 schedule. Remote work is not an option for this position. Some relocation assistance may be available, though not guaranteed.

The responsibilities of this position involve collaborating across various functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop structural components and assemblies for flight vehicles. The selected candidate will validate and implement design modifications using CAD software and PLM systems. Key tasks include 3D modeling, drafting, and completing change documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

· A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years of experience in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a Master's degree with at least 7 years of experience.

· Proficiency in CAD tools and PLM systems.

· Familiarity with GD&T and ASME Drawing Standards.

· Capability to obtain a U.S. secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

· A Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

· Experience in selecting and utilizing materials for high-temperature applications.

· Background in the Defense Industry.

· Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

· Familiarity with model-based definition.

· Active U.S. secret clearance.

Salary Range: $120,900 - $181,300. This salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may qualify for Long Term Incentives. Additionally, Northrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and personal business.
