Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently on the lookout for a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to enhance the Air Vehicle Design team, contributing to various initiatives within the Advanced Weapons sector.
This role necessitates the selected candidate to operate on-site, adhering to a 9/80 work schedule. Remote work options are not available for this position. Some relocation assistance may be provided, though it is not guaranteed.
The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop structural components and assemblies for flight vehicles. Responsibilities include validating and implementing design modifications using CAD software and PLM systems, along with tasks such as 3D modeling, drafting, and completing change documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a Master's degree with 7+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in CAD tools and PLM systems.
- Understanding of GD&T and ASME Drawing Standards.
- Capability to obtain a U.S. secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience in selecting and utilizing materials for high-temperature applications.
- Background in the Defense Industry.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Familiarity with model-based definition.
- Active U.S. secret clearance.
Salary Range: $120,900 - $181,300. This range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman evaluates various factors when determining base salary offers, including the role's scope and responsibilities, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and prevailing market conditions.
Employees may qualify for a discretionary bonus in addition to their base salary. Annual bonuses are designed to recognize individual contributions and allow employees to participate in the company's success. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Additionally, Northrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life and disability coverage, a savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and personal matters.
