About the Role

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office is seeking highly skilled Senior Attorneys to join our team in various divisions. As a Senior Attorney, you will serve as a key member of our prosecution team, working closely with colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of justice in Hennepin County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the performance of assigned professional legal staff, making recommendations for selection, transfers, and merit and disciplinary decisions.
  • Use assigned caseload to demonstrate and teach legal skills, allocating resources and establishing policies, procedures, and priorities within the work unit.
  • Maintain liaison with the courts and other public agencies, interpreting and communicating management objectives to staff.
  • Schedule staff, monitor caseloads, and ensure equitable distribution of work.
Requirements
  • Admission to the Bar of the State of Minnesota.
  • Four years or more of experience as a practicing attorney, with two years in public law.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in criminal prosecution, litigation, and civil counsel, or other relevant fields.
  • Knowledge of local laws and ordinances, established precedents, and legal reference sources.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and persuasive public speaking ability.
