Job Description

Overview

Wheaton College is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching foundational engineering courses, developing new courses, and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach foundational engineering courses, such as Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, and Engineering Graphics
  • Develop new required and elective courses within an Engineering BS major concentration
  • Mentor students from culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Engage students with an active learning model that challenges and supports each student
  • Maintain an active and productive program of scholarship that engages Wheaton undergraduate students

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in any engineering discipline
  • Previous teaching and industry experience, with hands-on design and project-based learning experience
  • Ability to mentor engineering students in the integration of Christian faith with the practice of engineering
  • Experience as an ABET evaluator or similar experience with the process of ABET accreditation is desirable
