Job Summary

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) is seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist II to join our team at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). As a key member of our IT Help Desk, you will provide Tier 2 support for our clients, investigating elevated issues and supporting MacOS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support for hardware, software, or network installation, including installing and upgrading hardware and software, disassembling equipment for relocation, and serving as a single point of contact for clients to report equipment and software malfunctions.
  • Perform client call backs, conduct customer satisfaction surveys, analyze and resolve problems, assist users in running management applications and systems, and monitor the operation of computer hardware or software.
  • Develop or modify processes and procedures to solve complex operating system problems, diagnose printer-related issues, and perform computer imaging (SCCM experience preferred).
  • Assist Tier I personnel in solving technical problems and investigate elevated issues by confirming the validity of the problem and seeking known solutions for more complex issues.
  • Provide specialty support for Active Directory (AD), AD Group Policy Objects, Windows 10, Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and advanced support and setup of Microsoft Outlook.
  • Communicate with vendors and perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent training and experience, plus at least one year of related experience.
  • MacOS experience preferred.
  • Strong end-to-end troubleshooting skills for system, network, and applications.
  • Advanced computer skills with Windows Operations Systems, Active Directory, and software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and MS Outlook.
  • Experience installing hardware and software for personal computing needs.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional, effective manner.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Working Conditions

The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada. The work schedule for this position will be 4/10's, Monday – Thursday (subject to change). A pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. A valid driver's license is also required.

Clearance Requirements

MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct, or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $33.21. Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience, and internal equity.
