IT Support Specialist II

Job Summary
Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) is seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist II to provide technical assistance and support for the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating elevated issues, supporting MacOS, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network installation, including installing and upgrading hardware and software, disassembling equipment for relocation, and serving as a single point of contact for clients to report equipment and software malfunctions.
- Perform client call backs, conduct customer satisfaction surveys, analyze and resolve problems, and assist users in running management applications and systems.
- Monitor the operation of computer hardware or software, develop or modify processes and procedures to solve complex operating system problems, and diagnose printer-related issues.
- Provide Tier 2 support, assisting Tier I personnel in solving technical problems and investigating elevated issues by confirming the validity of the problem and seeking known solutions for more complex issues.
- Specialty support may be required for Active Directory (AD), AD Group Policy Objects, Windows 10, Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and advanced support and setup of Microsoft Outlook.
- Communicate with vendors and perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Associate degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent training and experience, with at least one year of related experience.
- MacOS experience preferred.
- Strong end-to-end troubleshooting skills for system, network, and applications.
- Advanced computer skills with Windows Operations Systems, Active Directory, and software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and MS Outlook.
- Experience installing hardware and software for personal computing needs.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional, effective manner.
- Good oral and written communication skills and ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Working Conditions
The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada. The work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday, subject to change. A pre-placement physical examination, including a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. A valid driver's license is also required.
Security Clearance
MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance.
