Position Title: Transportation Case Aid
Location: Waterbury, CT
Employment Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Transportation Case Aid is responsible for facilitating transportation for youth and families involved in the LYNC program. This role primarily focuses on group travel arrangements and the efficient pickup of multiple participants at designated locations. The Transportation Case Aid is essential in promoting engagement, ensuring attendance, and supporting the successful completion of the program for those who may face transportation challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide transportation services for youth and families to and from the program.
  • Coordinate group travel logistics and manage pickups for multiple youth at common locations.
  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills to motivate and encourage program participation among youth and families.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn about the skills being taught to participants to reinforce learning during transport.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe vehicle operation.
  • Implement safety protocols as youth and families enter and exit the vehicle.
  • Maintain order among passengers to ensure a safe travel environment.
  • Keep accurate records of vehicle mileage and ensure regular maintenance checks.
  • Conduct weekly inspections of the vehicle for any damages or mechanical issues.
  • Report any vehicle damages or unusual mechanical concerns following agency procedures.
  • Manage gas card usage and maintain receipts for accountability.
  • Focus on Client Needs: Anticipate and respond to the needs of clients to exceed their expectations within program guidelines.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds with respect and professionalism.
  • Foster Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to set objectives, resolve issues, and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
WORK SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION:
  • Monday to Thursday: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Flexible hours on Fridays
  • Additional hours may be available based on client needs
  • Hourly Rate: $17.33
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in transporting children or youth.
  • Familiarity with the Juvenile Justice System is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
