ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
As a part-time Hagar House Youth Care Worker, your day will be filled with meaningful engagements and transformative experiences. Under the guidance of your supervisor, you will implement daily therapeutic activities designed to promote independence among the youth in your care. Your role as a mentor will involve teaching essential life skills, social interactions, and coping strategies, acting as a positive influence for these young individuals.
Whether you are coordinating educational programs or facilitating recreational activities, you will ensure that learning and enjoyment coexist. Your application of the CARE practice model and the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) framework will help maintain a safe and nurturing environment, prioritizing the emotional and physical well-being of each resident. Your awareness of the unique trauma backgrounds and triggers of the youth will enable you to anticipate and mitigate potential crises through effective de-escalation methods. Additionally, your commitment to accurate and timely documentation will reflect your conscientious approach to your duties, contributing to the overall effectiveness of our holistic care approach.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position offers a flexible part-time schedule, allowing you to work on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance necessary
- A passion for mentoring youth
- Willingness to learn and apply the CARE practice model and TCI system
- A bachelor's degree in human services or related experience is preferred, but various factors will be considered.
