Position Overview:
The Institutional Credit Management Risk Analysis Unit (IRAUs) plays a crucial role within the Institutional Credit Management (ICM) Underwriting framework. The IRAU is dedicated to providing top-tier credit risk evaluation, oversight, and credit administration, collaborating closely with ICM Risk and Banking to uphold the integrity and stability of wholesale lending across ICM.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of the creditworthiness and financial stability of Citi's Large Corporate, Public Sector, and Financial Institutions clients through in-depth credit analysis utilizing both quantitative and qualitative metrics.
  • Prepare detailed Credit Analysis Write-up Memos and Final Obligor Risk Ratings based on independent evaluations and insights derived from client due diligence and industry expertise, ensuring credit extensions align with risk appetite.
  • Timely approval of Transaction memos in accordance with business priorities, ensuring that discretionary recommendations are well-documented.
  • Utilize independent judgment to analyze and provide recommendations to the Second Line of Defense regarding risk ratings, classifications, and proposals.
  • Continuously oversee the assigned portfolio, tracking industry trends, assessing impacts on key relationships, and promptly escalating potential credit concerns to Credit Risk Team Leads and ICM Risk and Banking partners.
  • Collaborate with relevant regional and industry stakeholders in Banking and Independent Risk to establish and uphold credit assessment and monitoring standards for applicable portfolios.
  • Engage in ICM Risk Analysis Voice of the Employee (VOE) initiatives.
  • Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%).
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Risk & Credit Underwriting:
    • Intermediate analytical skills with a solid grasp of essential financial components, including liquidity and leverage, enabling the identification of root causes and trends.
    • Extensive knowledge of financial statements and GAAP accounting or equivalent governance relevant to the operational country.
    • Robust industry research capabilities, encompassing risk and key drivers.
    • Thorough understanding of Credit Policy and procedures, with proactive resource utilization.
    • Ability to identify and escalate potential risk issues promptly.
    • Proficient in articulating credit recommendations both orally and in writing for decision-makers, utilizing sound judgment and credit analysis knowledge.

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Experience with internal ICM templates and financial modeling.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or higher degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in credit analysis within the financial services sector, particularly in banking or credit risk management.
