Position Overview:
The Institutional Credit Management Risk Analysis Unit (IRAU) plays a crucial role within the Institutional Credit Management (ICM) organization. The IRAU is tasked with delivering top-tier credit risk evaluation, oversight, and credit administration, collaborating closely with ICM Risk and Banking, Capital Markets, and Advisory (BCMA) to uphold the integrity of wholesale lending across ICM.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive credit assessments and financial evaluations of Citi's most intricate NAM Municipal Clients, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative metrics.
- Prepare detailed Credit Analysis Write-up Memos and Final Obligor Risk Ratings for Citi's counterparties, based on thorough due diligence and industry insights to ensure appropriate credit extensions within the defined risk appetite.
- Engage in ongoing monitoring of the assigned portfolio, including tracking industry trends, assessing impacts on key relationships, and promptly escalating potential credit concerns to Credit Risk Team Leads and BCMA partners.
- Review and provide insights on risk rankings within the sector.
- Collaborate with relevant regional and industry stakeholders in BCMA and Independent Risk to implement credit assessment and monitoring standards for applicable portfolios.
- Support ICM Risk Analysis initiatives related to employee feedback.

Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical capabilities, with a deep understanding of key financial elements (liquidity, leverage) and the ability to identify underlying causes and trends.
- Ability to form independent credit opinions and recognize emerging risks.
- Advanced knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles relevant to the operational jurisdiction.
- Expertise in industry research, including risk factors and key drivers.
- Solid grasp of Credit Policy and procedures, with proactive benchmarking against transactions and submissions.
- Demonstrated ability to identify potential risk issues and escalate them as necessary.

Technical Proficiencies:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficient in internal ICG Templates and Financial Modeling.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; higher degree (MBA) is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis within Banking or Credit Risk Management.
