Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and integrating motion control electronics for brushless DC motors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop experimental test programs to evaluate the performance of motion control electronics.
  • Analyze test data to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan and develop projects, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Provide technical leadership to subordinate engineers and technicians, and direct designers to prepare schematics and assembly drawings.
  • Assist in the establishment of milestone schedules for detailed tasks, and perform to program schedules established by project engineers or program managers.
  • Contribute to technical proposals, including budget and schedule estimation.
  • Assist other key engineers and staff in analyzing customer requests to determine the feasibility of product proposals and development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's degree in engineering is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on engineering experience in a high technology, manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical testing methods, data collection and analysis, equipment used in testing, and methods/processes of testing operations.
  • Experience with embedded C for motor control, knowledge of feedback devices for motor control, and experience with multiple serial communications protocols.
  • Strong research, design, and development knowledge within the electrical engineering discipline, including knowledge of control systems.
  • Proficient with MATLAB and SIMULINK applications.
  • Altium Designer skillset is a plus.
