Position Overview

The University of Minnesota Morris is seeking a dedicated professional to lead the Admissions Office. Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, this role is pivotal in shaping the future of our undergraduate student body. The Director of Admissions will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing student enrollment and diversity.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management (60%)
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy that aligns with the university's long-term goals, ensuring an exceptional experience for prospective students and their families.
  • Oversee the systematic collection and analysis of enrollment data to inform strategic decisions and projections.
  • Establish and refine policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of admissions operations.
Staff Development (25%)
  • Recruit, train, and mentor admissions personnel, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Encourage professional growth and maintain high standards of performance and teamwork within the department.
Collaboration and Outreach (15%)
  • Work closely with the Office of Financial Aid to manage scholarship resources in line with strategic objectives.
  • Engage with community partners and stakeholders to strengthen recruitment efforts.
  • Collaborate with various departments to create effective communication strategies that support enrollment goals.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of eight years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least six years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record in university admissions, including strategic planning and program development.
Preferred:
  • Master's degree.
  • Strong commitment to the principles of liberal arts education.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience in fostering diversity and inclusion within the recruitment process.
  • Strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
