Operations Specialist

Vangst is seeking an experienced Operations Consultant to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cannabis operations, a keen eye for process optimization, and experience in helping companies streamline their growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities:- Operational Efficiency Review:
- Conduct thorough assessments of current facility operations, including production, packaging, inventory management, and logistics.
- Analyze workflows and procedures to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Production Process Analysis:
- Review and evaluate production processes to ensure they are optimized for scalability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide insights on enhancing productivity while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and safety standards.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization:
- Evaluate current inventory management practices and recommend strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce waste, and prevent stockouts or overages.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to streamline procurement, storage, and distribution processes.
- Growth Strategy Alignment:
- Assess the alignment between current operational processes and the company's growth objectives.
- Identify gaps in the company's growth plan and recommend strategic changes to ensure operational readiness for future expansion.
- Process Improvement Recommendations:
- Provide actionable recommendations for process improvements, cost reductions, and technology upgrades that align with company goals.
- Develop implementation plans for approved recommendations and provide ongoing support during execution.
- Reporting & KPI Tracking:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
- Deliver regular reports and presentations to senior leadership, highlighting findings, recommendations, and progress.
- Proven experience as an Operations Consultant or similar role in the cannabis industry, specifically within the New York market.
- Strong understanding of cannabis cultivation, processing, and inventory management practices.
- Expertise in process optimization, production planning, and operational audits.
- Ability to analyze complex systems, identify gaps, and develop strategic recommendations.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Experience working within New York State's cannabis regulations.
