Position Overview:
This role is pivotal in managing the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) access function within our organization. The EMR Manager collaborates with affiliated healthcare facilities to ensure seamless access to EMR systems for internal personnel designated to each facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of access privileges to partner electronic healthcare record systems.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new personnel, including setting up authorization for EMR access accounts and providing necessary training on privacy protocols.
  • Maintain a comprehensive SharePoint reference for staff access status.
  • Keep an updated record of staff access rights by facility for reporting purposes.
  • Assist personnel in reapplying for access if privileges are revoked.
  • Notify partner facilities of staff terminations and update internal records accordingly.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries in the EMR Support Service Desk mailbox.
  • Generate relevant reports to communicate current access rights status to various stakeholders.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with hospitals utilizing EMR systems to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure alignment on access requirements.
  • Innovate and implement automation solutions to enhance user experience and streamline access processes.
  • Conduct regular meetings with internal teams to align on access needs.
  • Travel as necessary to engage with staff and management regarding EMR requirements.
  • Document EMR-related meetings and processes on designated platforms.
  • Provide emergency support for access issues outside of regular business hours.
  • Assist with business continuity and emergency response planning, ensuring knowledge of executable plans.
  • Identify and address problem areas promptly, offering training and assistance to end users as needed.
  • Develop instructional materials and FAQs for end users.
  • Stay informed on industry standards and regulations, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
  • Participate in audits as required.

Qualifications:
  • General knowledge in IT areas such as networking, desktop support, and security.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products and cloud-based applications.

Education and Experience:
  • Preferred degree in IT technology or administration.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on IT experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, ideally within the healthcare sector.
  • Certifications such as MCSA, A+, Network+, and Security+ are desirable.
  • Vendor or industry certification in a specific EMR system is highly preferred.
