Procurement Specialist

To support and maintain purchasing procedures and participate in the sourcing and procurement of materials.
Create purchase orders and interact with vendors and vendor salespersons.
Place orders with vendors and support physical inventory.
Analyze prices, discounts, and delivery dates.
Make purchasing recommendations and set up contract pricing.
Understand Inventory Control System and conduct physical inventory.
Purchase goods and services according to company policies and procedures.
Coordinate with managers to maintain inventory levels.
Evaluate and report information to Supervisor/Manager on vendors.
Negotiate with vendors to obtain discounts and ensure purchasing documents are complete and accurate.
Maintain pricing histories and vendor records.
Embodies Decore core values.
Other related duties as required.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in purchasing or supply chain management is a plus.
Proven experience as a purchasing clerk or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
Sound knowledge of procurement processes, principles, and best practices.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, with experience working with purchasing software or ERP systems.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchase orders and records.
Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of manufacturing materials and components would be an advantage.
Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
