Procurement Specialist

Decore-ative Specialties is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to support and maintain purchasing procedures and participate in the sourcing and purchasing of materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes, principles, and best practices, as well as excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Create and manage purchase orders
• Interact with vendors and negotiate prices, discounts, and delivery dates
• Place orders with vendors and ensure timely delivery
• Support physical inventory and maintain accurate records
• Coordinate with managers to maintain inventory levels and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Evaluate and report information to Supervisor/Manager on vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history
• Work with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts
• Maintain pricing histories and other vendor records

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in purchasing or supply chain management is a plus
• Proven experience as a purchasing clerk or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
• Sound knowledge of procurement processes, principles, and best practices
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, with experience working with purchasing software or ERP systems
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchase orders and records
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of manufacturing materials and components would be an advantage
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
