Position Summary: We are in search of a knowledgeable Safety and Security Specialist to join our team in Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of designated areas through diligent monitoring and proactive measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular security patrols on foot or by vehicle, documenting findings meticulously.
  • Identify and report any irregularities or potential safety hazards.
  • Alert authorities in case of emergencies, including fire or unauthorized access.
  • Enforce rules and regulations by addressing violations such as loitering or possession of prohibited items.
  • Manage access to the property, ensuring only authorized individuals are permitted entry.
  • Monitor the departure of personnel to prevent theft and ensure compliance with property removal protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports on accidents and suspicious activities.
  • Provide courteous assistance to students, employees, and visitors.
  • Assist in managing disturbances and help staff de-escalate tense situations.
  • Transport students as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must successfully complete any state-required training or licensing qualifications.
  • Possession of a current and valid driver's license is essential.
  • A Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake and passenger endorsements is advantageous.
  • Must pass a background investigation and drug screening with satisfactory results.
