Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
As a Tableau Server Specialist, your primary duties will include:
  • Administering Tableau Server functions, including upgrades, installations, configuration, license management, server backups, and load balancing strategies.
  • Ensuring optimal performance, security, and usability of Tableau through comprehensive metrics and service reporting (KPI).
  • Providing support for production-related issues, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.
  • Developing procedures and documentation for the installation and configuration of Tableau Desktop, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Utilizing SQL queries and various database objects to facilitate data reporting and analysis, with a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Implementing Role Level Security to manage access to Tableau content effectively.
  • Managing user accounts and groups, including permissions and roles, in compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Collaborating with Government Tech Support to address system service and change requests.
  • Integrating Tableau with other enterprise systems, automating tasks using scripting languages (R, Python) or tools (tabcmd, tabadmin), and leveraging Tableau APIs for custom integrations and extensions.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • 3+ years of experience in Tableau administration.
  • Proficiency in SQL queries is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS is advantageous.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks based on business needs.
  • Leadership skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive attitude towards contributing to improvements and innovations.
  • Familiarity with Jira & Confluence.
  • US Citizenship is required.
