Job Summary

Asun Star Consulting, INC is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Counselor/Counseling Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's Degree in a recognized mental health discipline and be licensed and credentialed as a mental health counselor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health conditions and develop treatment plans to facilitate their needs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
  • Document all relevant information regarding clients' clinical records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in treatment team conferences and staff meetings to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources, social service agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless referrals and support.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to clients in need.
  • Develop and implement recreational activities, community integration, and specified courses to support clients' goals and behavioral objectives.
  • Prepare and submit monthly statistical reports to management.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in a recognized mental health discipline.
  • Licensed and credentialed as a mental health counselor.
  • At least two years of experience providing services in a mental health modality, social services field, addiction treatment center, or healthcare facility.
  • Proficient in computer skills and knowledge of local and county social service agencies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and serve as a role model.
