Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Clinical Psychosocial Specialist to provide comprehensive care to adult and/or child members in a primary or specialty care setting. As a key member of the care team, you will assess psychosocial assets and deficits, provide short-term counseling, education, advocacy, and resource brokering to enable and/or maintain the greatest level of independence.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with treating primary or specialty care providers and psychiatric, addiction medicine, and allied health professional team members to plan and direct each individual patient's treatment program.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and support to members and their families, including explanation of treatment, instructions in how to support treatment, and interventions to increase acceptance of and adherence to treatment.
  • Utilize resources of public and private agencies and community organizations to meet the needs of the members' treatment, including referral of the member and/or their family to external resources as appropriate.
  • Participate in departmental program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies.
  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate plans of care and/or clinical treatment programs for the diagnosis, treatment, and/or referral of Health Plan members with acute or chronic mental or addiction illness.
  • Instruct and counsel patients and their families regarding compliance with the plan of care, including prescribed therapeutic regimens and adherence to prescribed medication regimens.
  • May administer specialized therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
  • Complete all documentation of the members' treatment and progress in accord with Kaiser Permanente, state, and NCQA regulations and in keeping with accepted community standards within the scope of role and setting.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Social Work (or Social Welfare from a clinical track), Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field required from an accredited college or university.
  • Marriage and Family Therapist Associate License (Washington) OR Mental Health Counselor Associate License (Washington) OR Licensed Social Worker Associate-Independent Clinical (Washington).
