Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Psychosocial Specialist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our multidisciplinary clinic, you will provide a wide range of clinical psychosocial services to adult and/or child members in a primary or specialty care setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Confer with supervisors and other care team providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide short-term counseling, education, advocacy, and resource brokering to enable and/or maintain the greatest level of independence for our members.
  • Assess and diagnose mental health and addiction conditions, and provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Collaborate with treating primary or specialty care providers and allied health professional team members to plan and direct each individual patient's treatment program.
  • Participate in departmental program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care and/or clinical treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental or addiction illness.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Social Work (or Social Welfare from a clinical track), Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field required from an accredited college or university.
  • Marriage and Family Therapist Associate License (Washington) OR Mental Health Counselor Associate License (Washington) OR Licensed Social Worker Associate-Independent Clinical (Washington) required.
  • Prior completion of a practicum or internship in a clinical setting.
  • Full licensure expected within 3-4 years of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and professional board standards as related to member treatment, patient rights, and member/patient confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice, person-in-environment theory, and/or psychotherapy research methods.
  • Knowledge of the bio-psycho-social functions that contribute to mental health.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous clinical responsibility to include crisis intervention.
  • Experience working in medical settings with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience working with electronic health records.
