Burns & McDonnell's regional operation in Texas is seeking a Staff Environmental Engineer to provide air permitting and compliance services to the power, industrial, commercial, transportation, and manufacturing industries.

This position offers challenging work with significant project variety at a successful, industry-leading company and an opportunity for advancement in a growing Air & Noise practice.

The Staff Environmental Air Engineer will work within our Environmental Services Global Practice and perform the following duties:

  • Preparing air permit applications for major projects, including Title V air permits.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal air quality requirements.
  • Staying up-to-date with new and proposed air permitting requirements, emission estimating methods, and regulations.
  • Regularly meeting and corresponding with clients, agency officials, or other outside personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering degree from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 3 years of applicable professional experience.
  • Previous consulting experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers, and other professionals.
