Environmental Test Engineer

**Job Description**

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Test Engineer to join our team in the Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) area of our factory.
The candidate would support thermal stress screening, vibration screening, and functional testing of complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong technical aptitude, communication skills, and be able to work cross-functionally within the operations organization and with other discipline/functions.
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Performing Thermal Surveys and Vibration Surveys
- Supporting the test and troubleshooting of complex electronic systems and sub-assemblies, working directly with hardware and design engineering personnel as required
- Generating and reviewing the technical content of test procedures, drawings, engineering specifications, reports, Engineering Change Orders, and other documentation
- Providing training and support to manufacturing personnel
- Monitoring Quality data for trends and outliers and reporting regularly to the team
- Generating and implementing improvements in test design and develop methodologies to reduce cost, increase yield, and improve throughput
- Managing capital projects for test equipment
- Creating rework plans for test non-conformances
- Interfacing with Engineering, Quality, and other supporting functions to drive defect resolution to root cause
- Feedback lessons learned to the design teams for continuous improvement
- Identifying, Creating, and Implementing Engineering Change Orders on products as required
- Supporting relocation of test equipment between manufacturing sites and lead transition to production
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
BS Engineering Degree (Electrical or Mechanical) and 4 years work experience
Minimum 1-3 years experience working in an Environmental Test area (thermal cycling and vibration)
Experience Troubleshooting / Debugging environmental test failures and functional test failures
Experience using metrics and data to drive actions
Proven track record of solving complicated production issues and/or driving yield improvements
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
BS Engineering Degree (Electrical or Mechanical) and 6 years work experience
Lean Manufacturing
Troubleshooting electronic circuits or mechanical assemblies
Performs Preliminary Material Review/Material Review Board (PMR/MRB) for the disposition of discrepant material
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Data Collection and Analysis
Root Cause and Corrective Action methodology
IPC-A-610 / IPC-A-620 / J-STD-001
Development of software tools
BAE Paperless MES (Manufacturing Execution System) experience
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $191,070
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
