Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Engineer to join our team at CDM Smith. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating water and waste water treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, and other engineering designs to meet client project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and create water and waste water treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, and other engineering designs to meet client project requirements.
  • Ensure that designs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.
  • Update design requirements as necessary.
  • Perform water quality analyses and modeling.
  • Contribute to the firm's technical knowledge management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
  • Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
  • Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).
  • Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices.
  • Meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.
  • Attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license.
  • At least 7 years of related experience.
