Job Title:Complex Assistant Controller

Job Summary

21c Museum Hotels is seeking an experienced Complex Assistant Controller to supervise and coordinate accounting operations in our hotel. The successful candidate will ensure accurate, timely, and consistent financial reporting in accordance with policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervise the Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashier, and Night Audit functions, including interviewing, recommending hiring, training, developing, empowering, scheduling, coaching, and counseling team members.

  2. Maintain control over income, expenses, and the hotel's assets and liabilities by analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts and bank statements.

  3. Prepare financial statements and reports to ensure accurate, timely information is available for management and owners.

  4. Assist in compiling and preparing the annual budget, forecasts, taxes, and other financial reports.

  5. Train, monitor, and coordinate the implementation and maintenance of financial and cash controls and information flow throughout the hotel to ensure compliance and accurate records.

  6. Resolve problems and maintain the accounting systems and equipment to ensure smooth operations.

  7. Analyze and be familiar with tenants, leases, and rent reports to ensure compliance with hotel leases and management contracts.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have experience/knowledge in the following areas: Front Office operation and Night Audit; Accounts Payable and Receivable; Income Audit and Restaurant Control; Food and Beverage Control; Payroll and Personnel; General Cashier and Credit Management; Bank Reconciliations.

Candidates should be able to analyze Balance Sheet Accounts and prepare Journal entries, close the books, and prepare the Balance Sheet Package.

Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and ability to communicate clearly to provide information and services are also required.

A four-year college degree (accounting preferred) or equivalent education/experience is preferred.

Must have hotel accounting experience and the ability to make decisions guided by established policies and procedures.
