We are seeking a passionate English as a Second Language (ESL) Educator to contribute to our impactful initiatives.

The ESL Educator at the Learning Community Center of South Omaha will primarily focus on delivering ESL instruction to groups of parents with diverse levels of English proficiency and literacy. This role involves collaborating closely with the Director of the Learning Community Center to implement and support long-term strategies aimed at empowering parents to better assist their children's educational journeys.

This is a Part-Time role, with available schedules during both daytime and evening hours.

OneWorld operates the Learning Community Center of South Omaha, which provides a parent and child education program across eleven high-need elementary schools in the area. Our programs equip parents with essential skills to support their children's success in school. Our center and its satellite locations serve over 250 families, offering classes that include parenting workshops, English language courses, and computer training. On-site childcare is available during class hours. The Learning Community Center has received national recognition, including a White House honor as a Bright Spot in Hispanic Education.

Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  2. Bilingual proficiency in English and another language is preferred; basic Spanish communication skills are a plus.
  3. Certification in teaching English as a Second Language is required (e.g., ESL Endorsement, TESOL/TEFL certificate); a State of Nebraska teaching certificate with public school experience is preferred.
  4. Ability to meet the diverse learning needs of non-traditional student populations.
  5. Exceptional personal and interpersonal communication skills.
  6. Experience utilizing technology to enhance instruction.
  7. Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
