We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Virginia Oncology Associates. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our physicians and clinicians in providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties, including exams and procedures.
- Promote efficient patient flow and patient care by coordinating exams, procedures, and other patient-related activities.
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms.
- Obtain and review patient records, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Schedule patient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions as needed.
- Arrange for pre-authorizations and pre-certifications as required.
- Perform other administrative duties as requested by supervisor or physician.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a multi-physician practice.
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
- Ability to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of the profession and industry.
- CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) strongly preferred.
