POSITION OVERVIEW
Timber Products Co. is seeking an experienced technical leader to manage the electrical division at our Particleboard mill.

This role is crucial in supporting the organization’s production objectives by overseeing the maintenance operations of electrical systems; ensuring that equipment downtime is minimized during maintenance and repair activities.

The individual will assign and direct the tasks of designated maintenance teams during the construction, installation, modification, upkeep, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems within the Particleboard facility.

Additionally, the role involves implementing preventative maintenance strategies and supervising mechanical teams as required.

Ensuring a safe and productive work environment is essential, achieved through effective communication and enforcement of established company standards regarding quality, production, safety, and human resources.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees all maintenance and repair operations for the Particleboard mill, making critical decisions regarding maintenance timelines, repair priorities, overtime, and staffing requirements. Leads and guides team members to ensure minimal equipment downtime during maintenance and repair processes. Provides assistance in troubleshooting technical equipment issues and may engage in hands-on maintenance tasks as necessary.
  • Accountable for the timely and budget-compliant completion of projects.
  • Responsible for procuring parts, tools, and equipment, and coordinating with external service providers as needed.
  • May contribute to the design or modification of existing equipment to fulfill production requirements.
  • Develops and sustains the preventative maintenance program for assigned operations.
  • Implements specific maintenance schedules for designated mill equipment, ensuring adherence to these schedules.
  • Assists with environmental compliance, including air and water quality standards, testing, and permit obligations.
  • Engages with safety committees, supporting inspections and investigations while following up on hazard reports.
  • Helps maintain quality control standards to enhance company profitability and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Completes necessary administrative documentation and reporting related to production, scheduling, personnel actions, timekeeping, and safety.
  • Responsible for upholding company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

SKILL SET

  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in electrical/maintenance roles, ideally within a wood products or manufacturing setting; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Proven knowledge and success in supervising industrial mechanical/electrical maintenance teams.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of personnel, management, and contractors.
  • Formal technical training in electrical/mechanical principles for a minimum of 2 years. Ability to interpret blueprints is essential. Expertise in PLC and HMI is required, or a Licensed Electrician is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the capability to learn and utilize company-specific software.
