Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned proposal writer with a strong background in responding to RFPs from federal, state, and local entities. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine proposal requirements by identifying and clarifying objectives within the RFPs.
  • Gather proposal information by identifying sources of information and coordinating with key subject matter experts and other internal contributors.
  • Produce quality responses to RFPs by following proposal-writing standards, including readability, consistency, and tone.
  • Obtain approvals and submit completed proposal to the requester.
  • Establish priorities and target dates to ensure that the proposals are submitted on time.
  • Maintain records of all proposals submitted and received.
  • Log and update opportunity tracking and contract lifecycle software systems.
  • Gather and store feedback on proposals to help improve proposal content and process.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS required with 3 years of business experience.
  • Two or more years of experience responding to RFPs.
  • Strong contracting strategy mindset, with the ability to assess situations, understand customer requests, collect data, and deliver well-thought-out recommendations.
  • Excellent writing, organizational, communication, and planning skills.
  • Proven ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of the organization.
  • Strong customer-centric skills, with the ability to adapt to customer needs while maintaining protection of BD's interests.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines efficiently.
