About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Licensed Master Social Worker to join our team at the State of Connecticut. As a key member of our Mental Health Department, you will play a critical role in providing clinical social work services to individuals entering the custody of the Department of Correction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical social work services to agency clients under the guidance of a licensed clinical social worker or other licensed clinical professional.
  • Participate as a member of a treatment team and contribute to the development of psychosocial assessments through clinical interviews with assigned clients and families.
  • Develop treatment plans, prepare discharge summaries, and provide individual, group, and family therapy under supervision.
  • Advocate for clients and develop resources to assist clients in meeting identified needs.
  • Complete all required documentation, including progress notes, and make clinical observations of behavior of patients and/or clients.
Requirements
  • Possess the credentials of a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Connecticut.
  • Ability to devise and implement an appropriate client treatment plan.
  • Knowledge of social work methodology, casework, group work, and community mobilization.
  • Knowledge of family and interpersonal relationship dynamics, as well as social, cultural, economic, medical, psychological, and legal issues that influence attitudes and behaviors of clients and families.
