Job Summary

The Clinical Social Worker is a licensed, experienced professional who is the clinical expert in the assessment and treatment of patients, families, and social work consultation to the interdisciplinary teams in a variety of inpatient and ambulatory settings in the Yale New Haven Health System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic assessment, counseling, psychotherapy, brief treatment, crisis intervention, mental health consultation, teaching/mentoring, and/or other project/task force participation as assigned by supervisor.
  • Interact professionally and with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge base and skill set through educational opportunities and meet expectations set forth by State licensure, Hospital, and departmental standards.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work.
  • For Connecticut, consistent with LCSW licensure requirements, 3,000 hours of post-masters social work experience and 100 hours of post-masters clinical supervision.
  • For Rhode Island, consistent with LICSW licensure requirements, 24 months of experience licensed as a licensed clinical social worker under appropriate supervision.
