Clinical Social Worker Job Description

**Overview**

At Yale New Haven Health, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and promoting a culture of excellence. As a Clinical Social Worker, you will play a vital role in our interdisciplinary teams, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to our patients.

**Responsibilities**

* Provide diagnostic assessment, counseling, and psychotherapy services to patients and families
* Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement treatment plans
* Conduct mental health consultations and provide education to patients and families
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures

**Qualifications**

* Master's degree in social work from an accredited program
* Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) from the State of Connecticut or Rhode Island
* 3,000 hours of post-masters social work experience and 100 hours of post-masters clinical supervision (for Connecticut)
* 24 months of experience licensed as a licensed clinical social worker under appropriate supervision (for Rhode Island)

**Special Skills**

* Empathy, active listening, and critical thinking skills
* Strong organizational and computer skills
* Ability to effectively communicate with and advocate for patients and families

**Additional Information**

This position is assigned to the Maternal Wellness Program, providing clinical outpatient mental health services to prenatal and post-partum women with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
