Hybrid Role: Candidates must be able to attend on-site meetings periodically and live within a reasonable commuting distance from the designated work location.

Emergency Response: Yes - Must be available to undertake primary responsibilities in support of DTE Energy's emergency response efforts during storms or other service-impacting events.

Job Overview
  • Accountable for the systematic organization, storage, and management of engineering documentation (such as design guidelines, drawings, as-built documents, equipment lists, and vendor operation & maintenance manuals) for the Corporation's engineering, design, procurement, and construction initiatives (including capital, environmental, and nuclear projects) in an easily accessible manner. The volume of documentation can reach thousands per project. The incumbent ensures that: (A) nomenclature is consistent and documents are classified accurately according to corporate engineering standards and procedures, and; (B) vendor engineering firms adhere to corporate processes and procedures in line with corporate document & retrieval standards. The role operates under detailed policies and procedures or specific instructions. Successful completion of a security screening and drug test is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports findings to a senior analyst regarding the accuracy and compliance of engineering documentation with corporate standards and procedures.
  • Educates engineering vendor firms and internal project engineers on corporate standards and procedures for all engineering documentation.
  • Identifies, revises, and communicates discrepancies and misclassifications within engineering documentation to internal project engineers and vendor engineering firms.
  • Updates corporate documentation procedures and processes as necessary to align with emerging technologies and corporate engineering standards.
  • Collects, organizes, exports, and archives all engineering documentation in the corporate database.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year of relevant job experience (such as SharePoint file structure, permissions and access, and/or construction-related document experience).

  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) with individuals at all organizational levels, both within and outside the Corporation.
  • Ability to function in a 'team' and/or 'matrixed' environment, supporting multiple clients, procedures, and policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying key issues from a wide range of alternatives and recommending optimal solutions for various scenarios.
  • Ability to apply project planning and implementation principles to achieve tangible, positive outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of engineering or scientific procedures, equipment, and testing methodologies is preferred.
  • Associate degree in business, construction management, or engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with renewable projects is a plus.
  • Familiarity with solar and wind projects is advantageous.
