Schuler Inc. - Procurement Analyst Position

OVERVIEW:

As a Procurement Analyst at Schuler Inc., your primary responsibility will be to secure optimal procurement solutions for the organization while ensuring the acquisition of high-quality goods and services. This role necessitates adherence to the company's Purchasing Policies and Procedures, emphasizing the importance of timely delivery and supplier reliability. Building and maintaining strong relationships with both current and prospective suppliers will be essential, with a focus on quality and punctuality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively source technical products and services for the organization.
  • Comply with quality assurance protocols and procedures to select appropriate materials and suppliers, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed prior to sharing sensitive information.
  • Identify and cultivate new supplier relationships to fulfill Schuler's needs, including conducting thorough supplier risk evaluations.
  • Manage Requests for Quotations (RFQs), evaluate proposals, negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions confidently, and spearhead cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Process purchasing requests efficiently, taking into account cost, delivery timelines, quality, and reliability.
  • Ensure timely order fulfillment, expedite orders as required, and work on improving supplier performance while addressing any quality concerns with suppliers.
  • Maintain precise purchasing records within SAP and collaborate effectively with various departments.
  • Provide recommendations for process enhancements and cost optimization, continuously improving procurement methodologies.
  • Undertake additional procurement-related responsibilities as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical procurement, with a robust technical foundation.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical purchasing, particularly with machined components.
  • Strong negotiation skills complemented by excellent communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with mechanical drawings is crucial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and SAP.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and self-driven.
  • Customer-oriented with outstanding time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes effectively.
  • Capable of making independent decisions while working collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with proficiency in German and/or Portuguese considered an asset.
  • TOEFL certification may be required for non-native English speakers.
