Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Parasitology Laboratory Aide to join our team at Antech Diagnostics. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for the collection, identification, verification, processing, and preparation of fecal samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect fecal specimens from clients, scan them into loads, and prepare them for setup.
  • Set up para loads at a rate of 75/hour and Fcombo setup at a rate of 65/hour.
  • Accurately label processing tubes when building loads.
  • Split specimens for Giardia ELISA when required.
  • Find missing specimens, print, and reconcile queue lists.
  • Maintain organization of storage refrigerators.
  • Dispose of old fecal specimens.
  • Library all samples.
  • Maintain all equipment, including hoods, centrifuges, etc.
  • Knowledge of lab equipment and procedures.
  • Awareness of quality control and calibration.
  • Cross-train and develop knowledge of multiple specialties within the department/lab.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, prior/some lab experience preferred and/or 2, 3, or 4-year degree in a Science-related field.
  • Laboratory skills, with experience setting up, running, and operating lab instruments preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of medical and laboratory terminology and Parasitology procedures and equipment helpful.
  • General science background.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Personal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office.
