Overview

As a vital member of the service team at Pizza Nova, the Server is responsible for delivering exceptional service to each guest, ensuring they enjoy a memorable dining experience. Under the guidance of the General Manager and the management team, the Server will perform essential tasks to maintain a clean and welcoming environment, attend to guests' needs, and assist colleagues as required.

Key Responsibilities

The primary goal of the Server is to provide an outstanding guest experience through attentive and efficient table service, adhering to the established service standards of the company.

  • Welcome guests, inform them of daily specials, accurately take food and beverage orders, and input them into the POS system.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the menu offerings, including specials and promotional items, to effectively answer guest inquiries and make suitable recommendations.
  • Promptly deliver food, beverages, and any other requested items to guests.
  • Ensure food is prepared according to guest specifications and address any discrepancies with the kitchen staff following established protocols.
  • Proactively clear used items from tables by asking guests if they can remove any dishes, ensuring to follow best practices.
  • Regularly monitor the assigned section and dining area to keep floors clean and free of debris.
  • Be vigilant for any spills or accidents and promptly address them using proper cleaning procedures.
  • Complete side work tasks such as stocking the wait station, resetting tables, and refilling condiments.
  • Remain attentive to guests and communicate their needs to the server when necessary.
  • Support fellow team members to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • All employees are expected to adhere to proper hygiene and cleaning standards.
  • Additional tasks and projects, including deep cleaning duties, may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
  • Possess a customer-focused mindset with excellent service skills and interpersonal abilities.
  • Previous experience in a server role within a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to stay organized, prioritize tasks, and complete them in a busy and dynamic setting.
  • Willingness to collaborate with the team to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Maintain all necessary certifications (e.g., Food Handlers Card, LEAD Training).
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is essential.
Work Environment

The Server will work in a bustling restaurant atmosphere, where they may encounter various hazards, including heavy objects, cooking equipment, wet surfaces, and crowded spaces. Compliance with all safety regulations is mandatory in these areas.

Additional Information
  • This is a part-time, hourly position.
  • A valid Food Handler Card is required for all staff. If not available upon hire, the employee will have 30 days to obtain and present the card.
  • A current Responsive Beverage Service certification is also required. If not available upon hire, the employee will have 30 days to secure and present the card.
  • Restaurant operating hours are from 11 am to 9 pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 11 am to 9:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • This position is eligible for tips, with compensation at the current minimum wage rate.
