Job Summary:

McDermott Will & Emery is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our healthcare consulting team. As a Senior Manager, you will play a key role in supporting clients and consultants with ongoing market access support, providing subject-matter knowledge on Medicare, Medicaid, and private commercial coverage, coding, and payment policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert knowledge on healthcare policy, reimbursement, and market access to clients and internal teams.
  • Work with the market access team to develop strategic and tactical recommendations for clients to ensure optimal market access for their products.
  • Monitor and analyze health policy changes, including Medicare payment rules, and inform team members of relevant updates.
  • Present qualitative and quantitative results to both technical and non-technical audiences in formats such as PowerPoint.
  • Interact with clients and other stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions.
  • Participate in firm business development and marketing activities, including proposal and pitch writing, product development, and relationship building.
  • Collaborate with other McDermott Will & Emery staff as part of a cross-functional team to deliver results to clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as health policy, public policy, healthcare management, or business administration.
  • At least 5-8 years of related work experience, with 2 years of consulting experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of reimbursement-specific experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare payment systems, including inpatient hospital, outpatient hospital, physician office, clinical laboratory, and other payment settings.
  • Knowledge of existing claims and coding systems, such as CPT, HCPCS, and ICD.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Demonstrated research and writing skills, with basic analytic and quantitative experience a plus.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with major healthcare industry stakeholders, including associations, advocates, and government agencies.
