Staff Accountant with Payroll Emphasis

SARA Inc is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant with Payroll Emphasis to support our operations in Colorado and California. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for processing payroll, managing accounts payable, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities:- Payroll Management:
- Process and administer payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payment
- Handle payroll-related queries and resolve any discrepancies
- Accurately process timecards on a weekly basis
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including tax filings and reporting
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management
- Work with Unanet time keeping system and ADP payroll service
- Accounts Payable:
- Invoice Processing:
- Review, verify, and process 2-way and 3-way match vouchers for accuracy and completeness
- Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices
- Code electronic invoices with the correct general ledger account numbers and cost centers
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues with vendors and employees
- Invoice Processing:
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and regulatory requirements
- Stay updated on changes in accounting and payroll regulations and advise management on necessary adjustments
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting and payroll processing
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Familiar with Adobe Acrobat Standard
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
- May require light physical effort, involving standing, sitting and use of hands while performing duties, carrying or lifting up to 15 pounds

Pay Range: $55,000 to $70,000 (annualized USD)
