Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Mayo Clinic. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including collecting and documenting patient data and communicating with patients, families, and care team members.
- Support the unit by maintaining the environment of care and performing unit-based clerical duties.
- Work with patients throughout the lifespan with multiple conditions.
- Utilize multiple computer applications and demonstrate strong organizational skills and teamwork.
- 18 years old.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer skills and experience with other technological devices.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Self-motivated and independent.
- Able and willing to work with all populations served.
- High School Graduate or GED equivalency preferred.
- Working knowledge of computers and software applications required.
- Demonstrated ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
- Previous experience as a Patient Care Specialist, HUC, MA, NS, or Ward Clerk.
- Preferred demonstration of medical terminology.
Mayo Clinic offers a competitive compensation package, including a starting hourly rate of $22.89. Benefits-eligible employees also receive comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
Work ScheduleThis is a part-time position with a variable schedule, Monday through Friday, with start and end times between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. No weekends or holidays are required.
