Position Overview

Leidos is in search of a Sustainable Energy Specialist to contribute to our initiatives aimed at advancing the clean energy objectives of the community.

For over 14 years, our program has empowered local families and businesses to make informed energy decisions by providing education on the numerous, enduring advantages of sustainable energy practices. We advocate for and incentivize practical energy-saving choices that lead to cost savings, economic growth, and a decrease in electricity demand. Our team is dedicated to our mission and supports the vision of achieving 100% clean energy by 2045.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate energy efficiency assessments and energy models for commercial enterprises.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis for various stakeholders.
  • Examine billing and utility data utilizing linear and multivariable regression techniques.
  • Offer tailored energy advisory services to commercial clients.
  • Perform site evaluations to execute energy audits, identifying significant energy consumption areas and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Compose technical summaries and reports for diverse audiences.
  • Create educational resources for property owners and the design and construction sectors.
  • Formulate and assess measurement and verification (M&V) strategies, executing M&V tasks and analyzing data to ascertain energy project savings and costs.
  • Investigate and establish prescriptive savings measures for innovative energy efficiency technologies.
  • Design and present visual data representations using programming languages for various stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in analytical programming languages such as R and Python, along with SQL.
  • Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills, including technical report writing and advanced spreadsheet analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Physical capability to conduct energy audits and field verification of energy efficiency implementations.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in project financing and cost analysis.
  • Background in energy efficiency and/or the built environment.
  • Familiarity with energy auditing (ASHRAE Level 1 & 2 Audit) and field metering.
  • Experience in construction management or building maintenance.
  • Strong programming skills.
