Facilities Operations Supervisor

The Community College System of New Hampshire is seeking a Facilities Operations Supervisor to lead our dedicated team. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of custodial and grounds maintenance personnel while also engaging in similar responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, delegate, and evaluate the tasks of second shift Facilities Services Assistants, adjusting schedules as necessary to address urgent needs.
  • Carry out custodial tasks and oversee staff activities during college events and functions.
  • Ensure quality assurance for the work completed by custodial staff and manage timelines for special initiatives.
  • Facilitate orientation and onboarding processes, ensuring comprehensive training for new hires.
  • Conduct supervisory functions including performance assessments, continuous work evaluations, approval of time off requests, and disciplinary actions.
  • Guarantee that facilities personnel are trained in accordance with safety regulations and maintain a secure working environment.
  • Oversee inventory management of supplies, assist in ordering additional materials, and track deliveries.
  • Supervise basic maintenance and repairs in heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and perform duties of Facilities Services Assistant as needed.
  • Manage and assist with the relocation of furniture and equipment across designated buildings.
  • Inspect work areas for quality assurance, supervise snow and ice removal, and ensure both indoor and outdoor spaces are kept orderly.
  • Support event setups, breakdowns, and the movement of furniture throughout the campus.
  • Act as a backup for monitoring alarm systems and respond to alarm notifications as required.
  • Provide assistance in various areas of the Maintenance Department as necessary.
  • Participate in campus or system committees and teams as assigned.
  • Adhere to all applicable rules and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: A minimum of three years in custodial, grounds-keeping, or general maintenance roles, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.

License/Certification: A valid driver's license is required.

Recommended Work Traits: Comprehensive knowledge of cleaning services in a large facility, effective leadership skills, record-keeping abilities, and the capacity to build strong relationships with team members.
