Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise operations staff to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility in accordance with company policies and standards.
  • Maintain and enforce company policies and procedures, environmental compliance, and safety and health requirements.
  • Train shift personnel in safety procedures and equipment use, plant operating procedures, environmental standards, and compliance.
  • Assist in the creation of plant training programs consistent with corporate policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Develop operational strategies to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Enforce and administer all programs requiring a permit.
  • Conduct daily inspections of buildings, machinery, and equipment to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
  • Perform administrative functions, including conducting performance appraisals, completing disciplinary forms, and maintaining employee performance event logs.
  • Create work requests through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with additional education preferred.
  • Five years of supervisor experience in power plant or manufacturing, with comparable experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the operation, maintenance, and control of a steam generating power plant.
  • Proficient in the use of safety equipment, including OSHA personal and fire protection equipment.
  • Maintains all licenses required by local, state, federal, environmental, and/or health/safety regulatory agencies.
  • Skills, experience, and knowledge to acquire ASME QRO provisional license.
  • For Massachusetts facilities, a 2nd Class Engineers license is required, and the applicant must be able to demonstrate the skills, experience, and knowledge to sit for a 1st Class Engineers license.
Work Environment

The work environment is dynamic and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying levels of noise and physical demands. The following are key points regarding environmental demands and work environment:

  • Physical demands, including standing, sitting, walking, handling tools and equipment, and climbing heights.
  • Requires the ability to work in areas under adverse conditions, including confined spaces and pressure vessels.
