Service Advisor Job Description

At Sonic Automotive, we are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team. As a Service Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our service department, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring that customer vehicles are properly diagnosed, serviced, and repaired in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, listen to their concerns, and accurately document their vehicle issues.
  • Service Coordination: Provide detailed explanations of recommended services and repairs, communicate estimated costs and obtain customer approval, schedule appointments, and manage service bay availability.
  • Communication: Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs, update customers on the status of their vehicles, and provide accurate repair timelines and inform customers of any delays.
  • Administrative Tasks: Create and maintain detailed service records for each customer, prepare and explain invoices, process payments, and handle any billing inquiries.
  • Quality Control: Follow up with customers after service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns, and resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive dealership.
  • Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills, knowledge of automotive systems and basic technical understanding, ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment, excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical Skills: Experience using and working with CDK, prior Honda experience.
