Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Administrator to join our Commercial Lending team at First Northern Bank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating and affirming/declining credit requests for assigned commercial lending units, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and credit policies of the Bank.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and examine credit requests to assess credit worthiness, including loan quality, credit risk classification, loan structure, collateral analysis, pricing, and adherence to Bank policies.
  • Approve or decline credit requests within assigned authority, and analyze and recommend approval/declination of credit requests which exceed assigned authority to next level of delegated authority as appropriate.
  • Review and assess completeness, accuracy, and usefulness of established credit policies and procedures, and recommend Credit Policy changes for approval by the appropriate Management or Board committee.
  • Periodically review the loans portfolio reporting with assigned Teams or products to ensure appropriate loan classification/risk trend, and monitor the quality of the loan portfolio and exposures.
  • Actively participate in evaluating all adversely classified credits or relationships and recommend or approve action plans, within delegated approval authority, intended to remedy credit situations experiencing temporary financial distress.
  • Participate in Loan Review and Compliance exit reviews and ensure that corrective actions are taken to cure exceptions and further to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Provide support to ensure compliance and consistent execution with all applicable laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and administrative duties.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial credit decisioning and portfolio management experience required.
  • Ability to critically think and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions, with support for same.
  • Experience with Abrigo and FISERV or other similar systems preferred.
  • Advanced skills utilizing Microsoft Excel with experience in Outlook, Work, and PowerPoint.
